Recently, the specialized international standard for the steel wire field, "Tire Bead Steel Wire," revised under the leadership of the company, has been officially approved by the International Organization for Standardization.
The international standard proposal is led by the company and experts from the Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Information Standards Institute) as project leaders, and the experts from the Information Standards Institute serve as conveners of the working group, organizing experts from relevant domestic and foreign units to jointly participate in the revision. The revision of this standard will enhance the technical content level of the standard, marking a further increase in China's international standardization influence in the field of wire products.
With the support of the ISO/TC17/SC17 Secretariat, the strong organization and effective communication of the domestic technical counterpart, the Information Standards Institute, and the joint efforts of domestic and foreign experts, this international standard has attracted widespread attention during the project approval process, and has received support and participation from experts from countries such as the United Kingdom and India.
Tire bead steel wire is a type of steel wire made from high carbon steel wire rod with a coating on its surface. It is the main metal skeleton material for tires and is mainly used in tires for automobiles, construction machinery, airplanes, and other industries. With the advancement of tire production technology, users' requirements for lightweight, low rolling resistance, and long service life continue to increase, thus placing more and higher demands on bead wire. The existing ISO 16650:2004 technical requirements for dimensional deviation, mechanical properties, and chemical composition can no longer meet the new market demands, and standard revision must be carried out. This revision will be based on the new situation and tasks in the tire and bead wire industry, promote the upgrading of the entire industry chain, further promote the entry of products with Chinese characteristics into the international market, and promote the international development of China's metal products field.
In recent years, the company has hosted and participated in 19 international standards, national standards, industry standards, etc., among which the national standard "Steel Wire for Tire Beads 2016 Edition" has been applied and played a leading role in the industry.
As the leading revision unit of this international standard, the company will strictly follow the ISO workflow and requirements with the Information Standards Institute, extensively collaborate with domestic and foreign experts from metal product enterprises and research institutions to participate in the standard working group, accelerate the research and preparation of standards, and contribute to the international standardization work in the field of metal products.
