On May 11th, the Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Research Institute organized a domestic preparatory meeting for the 32nd ISO/TC17/SC17 "Wire Rod and Steel Wire" annual conference through on-site and video conferencing. Zhang Longqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Research Institute, attended the meeting and delivered a speech as the Chairman of ISO/TC17/SC17. Pan Lei, Assistant General Manager of the company, Dou Yanjun, Head of the Tire Bead Technology Department, and Zhang Yulong, Deputy Head of the Overseas Marketing Department, attended the meeting as company representatives.

The main focus of this meeting is to report on ongoing and pre research projects led by China. Firstly, the leading unit reported on the pre research projects such as "Test Methods for Steel Cord Part 2: Adhesive Strength Testing", and after discussion, the next work plan was determined. Subsequently, the attending experts conducted research on the NP voting results of ISO 14811 "Ultra Low Carbon High Boron Steel Wire Rod for Copper Coated Steel Wire" and ISO 16650 "Bead Steel Wire", and discussed issues such as the range of steel wire tensile strength grades and welding point steel wire diameter, reaching a preliminary consensus. At the same time, the leading unit reported on the progress of the ISO/DIS 6819 "Wire Rod for Bridge Cable Steel Wire" project, which has smoothly advanced to the next stage and is about to be published. Finally, the Secretariat reported on the latest developments in international standards in the relevant field and introduced the next focus of the sub committee's work.

The convening of this preparatory meeting has laid a solid foundation for the smooth promotion of China led international projects. Next, Daye Group will continue to actively participate in the development of international standards and contribute to the high-quality development of international standardization work in the field of wire and metal products.
